Guidelines for selling to Mothertree.

  • The Product

We buy clothes. Yes, we love vintage, but our main focus is on QUALITY over age. We welcome hand-me-down quality clothing and accessories of any age.

We look for natural materials—wool, silk, cotton and linen —not so much polyester or synthetic materials.

We buy art and homegoods as well but require photos first via email.

  • The Process

Bring your clean items, packaged in a large shopping bag, plastic tote (or even a trash bag will do).

If we have time at drop off we will go through the contents on the spot. On average, we offer 1/3 of the price we will sell them for, however we may offer more or less depending on value, or condition.

We pay with check or Venmo.

Then, we find new homes for your lovely items.

  • We LOVE this.

Finding new homes for well loved items is incredibly fulfilling. Every time a person makes a connection with an item in the shop, it is a little bit magic.

In these moments, it feels like the hidden threads that connect us all are more visible.

Which, incidentally is where the shop name comes from—Mothertree—the oldest tree in the forest with the most connections to the forest community around them, a symbol of a community with strong ties, and balanced ecosystems.

How to Sell to Mothertree

  • 50 items (2 bags) per drop in.

For larger sells, book an appointment via Instagram DM or email greta@mothertreecollective.co

  • We consider items on a first-come first-serve basis. Typically we can review items within 1-2 hours of receiving them. However, if it is busy we may ask to hold it until the next business day.

You may wait in the shop, or come back to pick up the rest of your items + money later.

All bags must be picked up by the end of that business day, unless we have asked to hold them until the next day.

  • Unfortunately we do not have the extra space to store items, and items that have been left for more than 48 hours will be donated.

  • Thank you for considering being a part of the Mothertree clothing cycle.

We exist to serve our community and strive to be better custodians of our planet.

We are also lovers of old things, and appreciate how difficult it can be to pass things on.

We make every effort to hold every thing that comes through Mothertree with the utmost care and respect, and consider ourselves lucky to be the ones to pass your items on to their next homes.
